FAQS

Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta FAQs

What is the Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta?

The Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta is a beloved community tradition filled with family fun at The Harbor! Enjoy live entertainment, food, vendors, KidZone activities, the Corporate Duck Beauty Pageant, the Jeep Zone, and plenty of ways to play throughout the day—all leading up to the big Rubber Duck Race at 4:00 PM.

This year, the Regatta is also the official kickoff to Driving for Good, our new Jeep sweepstakes!

Think of it as two exciting ways to have fun and do good:

At the Rubber Duck Regatta, Duck Race entries are FREE! Instead of purchasing a duck, you’ll earn chances to race by participating in the festival—visiting participating vendors, purchasing KidZone passes, supporting sponsors, enjoying activities, and more. The Duck Race will have its own three family-focused prizes.

Driving for Good is a separate online sweepstakes where you can enter to win a Jeep. It kicks off at the Regatta and continues through February, with flash prizes along the way and the grand-prize Jeep winner drawn in February.

Two separate contests. One great cause. And one fun day to kick it all off!

When and where is the event held?

The Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta takes place at The Harbor in Rockwall from 11:00 AM–4:30 PM, with the Rubber Duck Race beginning at 4:00 PM.

The Harbor is located at 2074 Summer Lee Drive, Rockwall, TX 75032.

What is the layout of the event?

Everything is happening at The Harbor this year! You’ll find vendors, food, KidZone activities, entertainment, the Jeep Zone, and other festival activities throughout The Harbor.

How can I get a duck in the Rubber Duck Race?

This year, you do not buy a duck—Duck Race entries are FREE!

Instead, you’ll have lots of opportunities to earn Duck Race tickets by participating in the festival. You might earn one by visiting participating vendors, purchasing KidZone passes, supporting sponsors, participating in activities, and more.

Each physical ticket you receive will have a unique number corresponding to a rubber duck in the race. Hang onto your ticket—you’ll need it to see if your duck wins!

How much does a duck cost?

Nothing! Duck Race entries are FREE this year.

Rather than selling ducks, we want the Duck Race to be part of the entire festival experience. Participate in the event and you’ll find lots of opportunities to collect Duck Race tickets.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

Do I get an actual rubber duck?

No. When you earn a Duck Race entry, you’ll receive a physical numbered ticket, not an actual rubber duck.

Your ticket number corresponds to the number on the bottom of one of the rubber ducks that will race at 4:00 PM.

How does the Duck Race work?

Each Duck Race ticket has a unique number that corresponds to a number on the bottom of a rubber duck.

At 4:00 PM, thousands of rubber ducks will hit the water and race toward the finish line. The first three ducks across the finish line will determine our first-, second-, and third-place winners.

Keep your ticket—you’ll want it when those winning numbers are announced!

When do I get my duck number?

You’ll get your number immediately! Each time you earn a Duck Race entry at the festival, you’ll receive a physical ticket with your duck number printed on it.

There’s no need to wait for an email this year. Just keep your ticket somewhere safe until the race!

What if I lose my Duck Race ticket?

Treat your Duck Race ticket like a winning ticket and keep it somewhere safe! Your physical ticket contains the number connected to your duck in the race.

While we will keep records of distributed ticket numbers, participants are responsible for keeping their tickets until all winners have been confirmed.

Do I have to be present to win?

No! You do not have to be present to win.

Winning numbers will be announced following the race, and we’ll make reasonable efforts to contact winners who are not present using the information associated with the winning ticket.

Keep your physical ticket until all prizes have been claimed.

Who is eligible to win the Duck Race?

Participants must be 18 years or older to claim a prize.

Employees and Board Members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas and Grace Clinic are not eligible to win Duck Race prizes.

If an ineligible person holds a winning ticket, the next eligible duck will be declared the winner.

Can I still win a Jeep?

YES! The Jeep giveaway isn't going away—it's getting its own moment.

The Jeep will now be given away through Driving for Good, a separate online sweepstakes running through February.

That means you’ll have months to enter, plus opportunities to win flash prizes along the way. The grand-prize Jeep winner will be drawn in February.

Driving for Good is separate from the Rubber Duck Regatta and Duck Race, so you can join the fun at the Regatta AND enter for your chance to win the Jeep!

Why did the Jeep giveaway move out of the Duck Race?

We’re giving two community favorites room to grow!

The Rubber Duck Regatta can focus on what makes the day so special: bringing families and the community together at The Harbor. Making Duck Race entries free also gives everyone more ways to participate just by enjoying the festival.

Meanwhile, Driving for Good gives the Jeep giveaway a much longer season, with online entries through February and flash prizes along the way.

Is there an entry fee to attend the Regatta?

No! Admission to the Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta is FREE.

Bring some spending money for food, drinks, KidZone passes, shopping with vendors, and other special activities. Plus, participating in the festival gives you lots of opportunities to earn FREE Duck Race entries!

Are there activities for kids?

Absolutely! The Regatta is designed to be a fun day for the whole family. KidZone will feature activities just for our youngest festival-goers, along with plenty to see and do throughout The Harbor.

What’s in the KidZone?

KidZone will be packed with activities to keep kids playing throughout the festival, including inflatables and other family-friendly fun.

More KidZone activities will be announced as we get closer to the event!

And remember: KidZone is also one of the places you may have opportunities to earn Duck Race entries.

Are the ducks real?

Nope! They’re rubber ducks—and they’ve been training all year for their big moment. 🦆

Can I bring my own snacks and drinks?

Come hungry! Food vendors will be serving plenty of tasty options throughout the festival. Outside food and beverage policies will be announced with final event details.

Is the event pet-friendly?

Yes! The Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta is pet-friendly. Please keep pets leashed and make sure they’re comfortable in a busy festival environment.

Where do the funds from the event go?

The Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta is more than a fun day at The Harbor. The event supports two local organizations serving our community:

Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas provides safe places, caring mentors, and life-changing programs that help young people reach their full potential.

Grace Clinic provides essential healthcare services to underserved and uninsured members of our community.

When you sponsor, shop, eat, play, and participate in the Regatta, you’re helping support important work right here in our community.

What if it rains?

The Regatta is planned as a rain-or-shine event. In the case of severe weather, schedule changes or other updates will be shared on our website and social media.

How can I volunteer or become a sponsor?

We’d love to have you involved! Visit our Sponsor and Volunteer pages to find ways to support the Regatta.

Sponsors are also an important part of our new FREE Duck Race experience, with opportunities to help festival-goers earn Duck Race entries throughout the day.

How can I become a vendor at the Regatta?

We’d love to have your business or organization join us at The Harbor! Visit the Vendor page on our website to complete an application and learn more about vendor opportunities.
